Notes: His wife, Mary Ann[e], was 48 and born in Salford Priors, Worcestershire (On the 1901 census where they lived was classed as Offices) In 1891 John a groom and Mary Ann was a laundress. They lived in Easemore Lane, Redditch. Mary Ann died in 1909 and John died in 1911

Notes: His wife, Florence, was 27 and born in Broadway, Worcestershire. They had been married for 3 years 5 months. Their daughter, Marjorie, was 1 year 10 months old and born in Redditch. In 1881 Albert’s father, William, was a constable in Dudley. In 1891 William was a police inspector and the family, including Albert, were living at the Police Station in Evesham Street, Redditch. In 1901 Albert was a constable living in constable quarters In Worcester.

Notes: His wife, Ethel V. (Palmer) aged 24, was born in Worcester. They had been married for 1 year. In 1901 Gilbert was a Chemist’s Apprentice and living with his family at 41, Park Road, Redditch. His father, Francis C was a machinist in a fish hook factory. His Mother was Rosa H. His brother, Francis R, was 24 and a piano tuner. His sister, Emily, was 21 and a fly dresser. Only Rosa was not born in Redditch. She was born in Alvechurch, Worcestershire.

Notes: Thomas was single. Joseph Davey was 37, single, born in Tolleshunt Major, Essex and Thomas’ general domestic servant. William Knight was aged 20, single, born in Burton, Warwickshire, and the chauffeur. (On the 1911 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Church Road before going to 2 William Street, Redditch). On the 1901 census Thomas lived with his mother Harriet in Church Road but no numbers stated on census. Thomas died 6th May 1914.

Notes: Although Thomas was married, his wife was not mentioned. His son, Henry Vivian Carton, was 20, single and born in Redditch. He was a surgical needle maker’s head clerk. Although not there, there were 2 other children still living. There were 2 servants. Agnes Wargent, the general servant, was 20, single and born in Feckenham, Worcestershire. Sophie Donner was the housekeeper, 32, and single. Alwine Agnes Donner was a boarder and both she and Sophie were born in Cologne, Germany. Shrimpton (Eml.) & Fletcher, surgical needle manufacturers, Premiere Works, Hewell Road are listed in Kelly’s Directory of Worcestershire1896, but they do not appear in Bennett’s Business Directory of Worcestershire 1914.

Herman Gittus died in 1956.
