In the 1855 Billing’s Directory and Gazetteer there was a James Briggs classed as a Butcher in Evesham Street and also a Thomas Briggs, Butcher and Dealer, in Evesham Street, possibly their sons. In the 1860 Post Office Directory it seems James Briggs Senior was a Butcher Tann House Farm.
