Notes: Wife Esther S. (53) plus 2 working children at home. (On the 1891 census the enumerator stopped at this house after 117 Evesham Street and then C1H3 and then 113 Evesham Street) On the 1871 census they lived in Mount Pleasant. On the 1881 census they lived at 8 Izods Yard which was in Evesham Street. On the 1901 census Esther was now a widow and lived at C1H3 Evesham Street. Joseph died in 1897.

(On the 1911 census they stated that they had had 1 child born alive) (On the 1911 census this house in Evesham Street came after the “Britten Inn” 115 Evesham Street) On the 1901 census George is with his parents Henry and Emma Blackford at 76 Evesham Street.
