Notes: Wife Elizabeth (Smith) (42) plus 1 son at home. No number stated on the census but called the “Toy Shop”. On the 1881 census they lived at this address but no numbers stated on this census but seem to be at this number along the street. On the 1861 census they lived Littleworth, Redditch (family tree have this as 136 and James was a Fishing Tackle Manufacturer). On the 1851 census James lived in Evesham Street and had his siblings living with him and he was classed as son. According to a family tree on Ancestry site his parents were James Avery and Sarah Griffin and they married 19th February 1825 at St Bartholomew, Tardebigge and on the 1841 census James Jnr was living with James Snr at 77 Evesham Street.

Another entry had him as an Umbrella Maker, Evesham Street. In the 1892 Worcestershire Directory they are classed as being James Avery & Son, float makers, 36 Evesham Street. In 1900 they are stated in the Worcestershire Directory as being James Avery & Son, float makers at 30 Evesham Street.
