Notes: Wife Caroline (Duggins) (30) plus 3 children + 1 servant at home. No numbers stated on the census but called the “Tailors Shop”. On the 1881 census they lived at the same address. On the 1861 census Thomas lived with his parents Thomas and Susannah Haines nee Hollington (sister of William Hollington and aunt to Frederick Hollington, Drapers of 21 Evesham Street) in Adelaide Street. In the 1873 Littlebury’s Directory and Gazetteer Thomas was classed as Tailor, Outfitter, Hatter and Woollen Draper, 38 and 40 Evesham Street.

Notes: Wife Esther (Duggins) (46) Habberdasher at home plus daughter Sarah 16 Habberdashery assistant + 2 other children at home. (On the 1891 census the enumerator started at this house in Evesham Street after 36 Vine Street) In Evehsham Street on the 1871 census but no numbers stated on that census. On the 1881 census they lived at 3 Red Lion Street and Robert was a Timber Merchant and Saw Mill Proprietor and Cabinet Case Maker. In the 1876 Kelly’s Directory Robert was classed as Chair & Packing Case maker, Walford Street, Redditch. In the 1884 Kelly’s Directory Robert was classed as Timber Merchants, Sawing Mills & Packing Case Makers in Alcester Street. In the 1892 Kelly’s Directory Robert is classed as Wholesale cabinet & fancy case Manufacturer of every descripion, for needles, cottons, haberdashery &ck Albert Street. In the 1892 Kelly’s Directory Esther was classed as Mrs. E. Glossop, 38 Evesham Street, Fancy Repository. Robert died 5th October 1899. Esther on the 1911 census lived 23 Beoley Road, Redditch and classed as Paper Box Maker.

Thomas’s wife Caroline, was the daughter of James and Sarah Duggins who lived on earlier census at 77 Alcester Street, the Temperance Hotel.
