(On the 1881 census the enumerator finished the west side of Evesham Street at this house) Possibly at the same address on the 1871 census but no numbers stated on early census. On the 1891 census they lived in Oswald Street, Redditch. John Clews died in 1918.

In the 1892 Kelly’s Directory they were living at 9 Park Road, Redditch classed as Clothier, Market Place.

Jesse was the son of Job and Mary Palmer nee Laugher who on very early census lived at 4 Evesham Street and Job was a Tailor and Draper. (On the 1911 census they had stated that they had had 5 children born alive but 2 had died) On the 1901 census Jesse and Elizabeth lived in Oakley Road, Redditch. In the 1884 Kelly’s Directory under Private Schools for boys Jesse Palmer, 40 Prospect Hill, Redditch. In the 1908 Kelly’s Directory Jesse had a Boys’ School, Worcester Road. Jesse Palmer died in 1932
