(according to “Old Redditch Pubs” by Alan Foxall, Joseph advertised in 1861 stating that he was at the “Queens Head” Alcester Street but no other evidence of there being such a Public House has been found) Joseph of Bromsgrove Road, Redditch, died 16th March 1901. On the 1871 census they lived in Alcester Street and though no numbers stated they lived next door to the Nags Head, so must be at the same address. In Jones’s 1865 Mercantile Directory of the Iron District of South Staffordshire and East Worcestershire it stated that William was in Alcester Street, Redditch. In the 1870 Kelly’s Directory William was a Greengrocer, Alcester Street. In the 1884 & 1888 Kelly’s Directory William is classed as Greengrocer, 23 Alcester Street. Died 13th June 1889.
