Notes: Ellen had daughters Fanny 16, Needle Paperer and Martha 11 at home. On the 1871 census Ellen lived with her husband William and they lived at this address. On the 1891 census Ellen lived at 7 Alcester Street. In the 1884 Kelly’s Directory they had her as Ellen Malin, Greengrocer, 11 Evesham Street. Their name seems to change over the census, Melen, Malin,Malins and Melens. Ellen Melen died in 1921.

Notes: On the 1881 census George lived with his mother-in-law Harriet Palmer at 12 & 14 Evesham Street, Harriet was a Draper and Milliner and George was Tailor and Outfitter and married to Harriet. On the 1891 & 1901 census George Frederick Brough lived in Mount Pleasant, Redditch and he was a Tailor. He was married to Harriet and they had several children who might have taken over the business. In the 1884 Kelly’s Directory George was classed as Hosier and Hatter 7 Evesham Street. In the 1888, 1892, 1900, 1908, 1912, 1916, 1921 & 1924 Kelly’s Directories George was classed as Hosier and Hatter at 11 Evesham Street.
