Notes: Wife Elizabeth (27) plus 1 daughter + 3 servants at home. (On the 1861 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Evesham Street and classed this as end of Evesham Street and end of District 2) On the 1851 census Thomas is a Journeyman to George Tunnis Fisher who was a Draper and Grocer at Fish Hill House, Redditch. They lived in Evesham Street on the 1871 and seem to be at the same address but no numbers stated on early census.

Notes: (On the 1861 census this house was at the end of the enumerators walk in Evesham Street and then had one entry for New Street and then went on to Walford Street) On the 1851 census he was visiting James and Sarah Duggins in Alcester Street but no numbers stated on the early census. On the 1871 census he was living in Govillon, Monmouthshire

Notes: Wife Mary Ann (Kemp) (37) plus 2 chidlren + 1 servant at home. At at this address on 1881 census but no numbers on the 1871 census but seems to be at this number along the Street. In the 1870 Kelly’s Directory Edward was classed as Printer & Stationer, Evesham Street. In the 1873 Kelly’s Directory Edward was classed under Bookbinders and also Booksellers, Evesham Street. In the 1876 & 1880 Kelly’s Directories Edward was classed as Printer & Stationer in Evesham Street. Hodges the Stationers was established in 1861. Mary Ann died 1879.

Notes: Edward had 1 daughter + Housekeeper + 1 boarder at home. (On the 1881 census this was the last house on Evesham Street that the enumerator stopped at before Walford Street) At this address on other census. In the 1884, 1888 & 1892 Kelly’s Directories Edward was classed as Stationer and Stamp Distributor, 1 Evesham Street.

Notes: Wife Sarah A. (Tongue) (57) plus 1 daughter + 1 niece at home. (On the 1891 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Evesham Street before going on to 1 Market Place) They were at this address on other census. In the 1896 & 1900 Kelly’s Directories Edward was Stationer and Stamp Distributor at 1 Evesham Street. In the 1892 Kelly’s Directory of Worcestershire under Newspapers it mentions that “The Arrow” Printing & Publishing Co. Lim. Proprietors officewas at 1 Evesham Street and that “The Arrow” newspaper was delivered every Thursday. Not mentioned in the 1888 or 1896 Kelly’s Directories. At the time of Edward’s death 17th March, 1898 he lived at 1 Evesham Street but died in Wotton-under-Edge, Glos.

In the 1904 Kelly’s Directories Edward Ashford Hodges was classed as Stationer, 1 Evesham Street. In the 1908 Kelly’s Directory Edward Ashford Hodges was classed as Bookseller, Stationer, News Agent, Fancy Leather & Silver Goods Dealer.
