On the 1861 census they lived at 19 Alcester Street. (On later census Beoley Street seemed to become Alcester Street)

Notes: Wife Elizabeth (35) plus 1 child + 1 other person at home. (On later census Beoley Street seemed to become Alcester Street) In the 1842 Pigot’s Directory, Thomas is classed under Retailers of Beer, Alcester Street but on the census he was living in Beoley Street which later became known as Alcester Street. In the 1842 Bentley’s Directory of Worcestershire, Vol. 1 Thomas was classed as Victualler of the “Fox & Goose”, which on the 1861 census was classed as being in Alcester Street but after that seemed to be in Chapel Green. Inn the 1850 Slater’s Directory of Worcestershire, Thomas is now classed under Inns & Public Houses, “Fox & Goose”, now classed in Chapel Green. Thomas died in 1871.

(On later census Beoley Street seemed to become Alcester Street) On the 1851 census they lived in Beoley Street but no numbers stated on the early census and like this census lived next door to William & Sarah Gould who might have been his parents.

(On later census Beoley Street seemed to become Alcester Street) (On the 1841 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Beoley Street before going on to Beoley Lane) On the 1851 census William lived in Beoley Street but no numbers stated on the early census and like this census lived next door to William Gould who might have been their son. In the 1828 Pigot’s Directory of Worcestershire, William was classed under Needle & Fish Hook Manufacturers, Redditch. In the 1835 Pigot’s Directory William was classed as William Gould & Son, Needle & Fish Hook Manufacturers.

Notes: Wife Maria (20) plus 2 children + 1 other person at home. On the 1851 census they lived in Beoley Street but no numbers stated on the early census but would have been the same address. On the 1861 census they lived at 29 Alcester Street, the “Rising Sun” and he was the licensee 1841-1864. (On later census Beoley Street seemed to become Alcester Street so they would have been at the same address) In the 1842 Bentley’s Directory of Worcestershire, John was classed as Beerseller and Grocer, Redditch. In the 1842 Pigot’s Directory of Worcestershire John was classed as Retailer of Beer, Alcester Street.
