On the 1881 census John lived with his father Zaccheus and step-mother Mary. In the 1896 Kelly’s Directory John lived at 24 Worcester Road. Annie was the daughter of Samuel and Jane Allcock and Samuel Allcock was a well known Redditch Fishing Tackle Manufacturer.
