On the 1911 census John was boarding in Studley and still classed as married but no mention of his wife as she was living in George Street, Redditch. James Henry Purcell died in 1943 and his wife Elizabeth died in 1939.

Notes: In the 1911 summary book the enumerator came to this house in Silver Street after the Timber Stores) (On the 1911 census they had stated that they had had 4 children born alive but 1 had died) On the 1901 census Joseph was married to Sarah and they lived in Stoke Prior and had 3 small daughters. On the 1891 census Joseph was head of the house at 135 Evesham Street and had his brother and family living with him. On the 1881 census Joseph lived with his parents Richard and Elizabeth at 135 Evesham Street. Joseph Edward James died in 1935
