Notes: Charles was classed as married on census but no wife mentioned. On his baptism and the earlier census his name was Charles Sadler Simmonds but from the 1871 census onwards he seemed to be Charles Sadler Simmons and was this when he died and buried. On the 1841 census Charles was living with his parents John and Ann and John was a Watchmaker and they lived in Wootton Wawen. No numbers stated on this census but seems to be at this number along the Street. In the 1842 Pigot’s Directory of Worcestershire Charles was classed as Watch and Clock Maker, Evesham Street.

Notes: Charles was stated as being married but no wife mentioned on the census. No numbers stated on this census but seems to be at this number along the Street and at this number on later census. In the 1865 Jones Mercantile Directory of the Iron District Charles was classed as Watchmaker and Jeweller, Evesham Street.

Notes: Wife Elizabeth Rogers Simmons (52) plus 1 daughter at home. On the 1861 census seemed to live at the same address and at this address on the 1881 census. In the 1870 Kelly’s Directory Charles was Watchmaker, Evesham Street.

Notes: Wife Elizabeth Rogers (62) plus working daughter + 1 younger + 1 visitor at home. On the 1871 census and earlier seems to be at this address and still at this address on the 1891 census. In the 1884 & 1888 Kelly’s Directory he was Watchmaker, 51 Evesham Street.

Notes: Wife Elizabeth (72) plus 3 grown up daughters at home. On the 1881 census and earlier seem to be at the same address. Charles died 11th November 1891 in Birmingham Hospital. He was buried 14th November 1891 in Beaudesert, Warwickshire.

Notes: Elizabeth had 1 daughter at home. On the 1891 census she was married to Charles Sadler Simmons and they lived at 51 Evesham Street. In the 1892 and 1900 Kelly’s Directory she was classed as Jeweller, 51 Evesham Street. She died 2nd June 1901 and was buried 5th June in Beaudesert, Warwickshire.
