His wife Ellen was the Beerhouse Keeper on the 1871 census and George was the licensee of the “Horse & Jockey” 1860-1868. Ellen/Helen was the licensee of the “Horse & Jockey” 1871-1879. On the 1881 census she lived with her daughter Mary and her husband Charles Baylis and Ellen/Helen in Beoley Road and she was classed as a retired Publican.
