In the 1842 Pigot’s Directory James was Retailer of Beer, Chapel Green. In the 1850 Slater’s Directory of Worcestershire. James was classed under Beer Retailer, Chapel Green East.

(In Old Redditch Pubs-Alan Foxall, Francis was the licensee of the “Vine Inn”, 30 Evesham Street, in 1850 and then the “Fox & Goose”, 8 Market Place in 1854-1855) In the 1855 Directory and Gazetteer of Worcestershire William was Needle Maker, Fox & Goose Commercial Hotel, Chapel Green.
