On the 1911 census his mother Ann was now a widow and lived at Bk 99 Evesham Street. In the 1912 Kelly’s Directory there was an entry for Redditch Social Club & Institute Ltd., (Frederick J. Whiteley, secretary) 85 Evesham Street.
