Thomas was lodging in Birmingham. On the 1861 census they lived in Birmingham. In the 1872 Kelly’s Directory Thomas was a Cabinet Maker, Alcester Street. In the 1873 Gazetteer and Directory of Worcestershire, Thomas Avery & Son Complete House Furnishers, General Brokers, Joiners Cabinet and Coffin Makers. Bedstead, Bedding and Carpet Warehousemen.
