(On the 1891 census the enumerator stopped at this house in Vine street before going on to 32 Evesham Street) The “White Swan” was sometimes classed as being in Evesham Street as it was on the corner of Evesham Street and Vine Street and Alfred was licensee 1889-1900. (On later census Vine Street became Worcester Road) On the 1901 census Alfred and his wife and family lived at the “Wagon and Horses”, 14 Beoley Road, Redditch. Licensee 1901-1912. Alfred then went on to be the licensee of “Royal Hotel” 1912-1936.
