Notes:         Wife Ann Eliza (34) plus 5 children at home. On the 1871 census they lived in Red Lion Street, Redditch. In the 1855 Billings Directory and Gazetteer John’s father John Smallwood senior was classed as Fish Hook Maker, Red Lion Street. In the 1873 Littlebury’s Directory and gazetteer it stated that John Smallwood & Sons, Central Works, George Street, Redditch. At the time of his death 10th February 1891 John was living in Red Lion Street, Redditch and it stated that he was a Fish Hook and Fishing Tackle Manufacturer. On the 1891 census his wife Ann was living 26 Red Lion Street.
