On the 1861 census David was lodging in Wellington Street, Redditch. In the 1870 Kelly’s Directory David was classed as assistant registrar to the county court, Front Hill, Redditch. In the 1873 Littlebury’s Directory and Gazetteer David was under the entries for Insurance Agent – Sun (Fire and Life) Evesham Street and his wife was Mrs Shropshire, Drapery , Hosiery, Haberdashery and Berling Wool Warehouse, Evesham Street.
