Notes:         His wife, Elizabeth, was 50 and born in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. Presumably John was living in the Redditch Literary and Scientific Institute. In 1871 John was a Post Office messenger in Penkridge, Staffordshire. In 1881 John and Elizabeth were living in Prospect Road and John was described as a retired grocer. On the 1901 census they lived in Church Road but no numbers stated on census.
