Notes: Wife Elizabeth (61) Needle Hander plus 4 (which included Joseph 32 who lived at this address on the 1891 census) working children at home. On the 1851 census they lived in Evesham Street but no numbers stated and then on the 1861 & 1871 census Richard was Beerhouse Keeper and Fish Hook Maker living in Evesham Street but no numbers are stated on these census. However known to have been the licensee of the “Golden Salmon” 1860-1874 which was 133 Evesham Street. On the 1841 census Richard was living on his own in New End, Redditch. In the 1888 Kelly’s Directory R. James & Sons, manufacturers & inventors of the main spring double pike hook, patent spring eyed treble, double & single salmon & trout fly hooks & all other kinds of fancy hooks for angling; established upwards of a century, “Lion Works”, 135 Evesham Street. Richard died in 1886.
