In 1855 Billing’s Directory the premises seems to be the “Needle Pointer’s Arms” (Pointer’s Arms) and the licensee John Bryan (by 1860 George Mustin had taken it over and renamed it “The Royal George” and John Bryan was the Licensee 1850-1855 – information from “Old Redditch Pubs by Alan Foxall) John was also classed as Hairdresser. On the 1861 census John is a Hairdresser living in Walford Street, Redditch.
