Notes: Son James Avery (23) Brewer plus 4 brothers + 2 sisters + 2 Lodgers at home. James Avery’s father James was the licensee of the “Bull’s Head” at 77 Evesham Street 1835-1841 and they were living at this address at this time. James Avery Jnr on the 1861 census lived in Littleworth and then on 1871 census he lived with his wife Elizabeth at 36 Evesham Street. In the Chapel Register “A list of those men who have so loyally stepped forth in Defence of the Hamlet of Redditch were called the Redditch Volunteers. Taken in the Year 1806 and a James Avery was classed as Sergeant which would possibly have been James Avery senior.
