(On the 1881 census the enumerator started at this house in Church Green South after Alcester Street) On the 1891 census Ann was now a widow and lived at the same address. (On the later census Church Green South became Market Place) In the 1880, 1884 and 1892 Kelly’s Directories John was classed as Butcher at 18 Market Place but classed as Church Green South on the census. On the 1891 census John’s wife Ann was now a widow and classed as living at 18 Church Green South. On the 1871 census they lived in Alcester Street. On the 1861 census they lived at the “Vine Inn”, 30 Evesham Street and John was Butcher and Innkeeper. John died in 1884.
