On the 1861 census they lived in Victoria Street, Redditch. In the 1855 Billing’s Directory and Gazetteer James was classed as Auctioneer and Appraiser and Leather Dealer, Unicorn Hill. In the Jones’s 1865 Mercantile Directory of the Iron District of South Staffordshire and East Worcestershire James was Fishing Tackle maker, Auctioneer, Appraiser and House Agent, Alcester Street.
