(On the 1911 census they stated that they had had 7 children born alive but 2 had died) In 1900? Charles joined the Worcestershire Regiment for a short term possibly just for 1 year and he seemed to have already been a volunteer in the Rifle Volunteers Worcestershire. He joined the Territorial Force the 8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment in 1908 and was classed as a Fishing Rod Maker who worked for S. Thomas & Sons. Charles Valentine Laight died in 1919
