On the 1841 census Charles lived with his parents John and Dinah in Headless Cross, Redditch. In the 1855 Billing’s Directory and gazetteer Charles was classed as Grocer and Provisions Dealer, Alcester Street. In the 1860 Post Office Directory Charles was Grocer, Alcester Street.
